The Zigzag Path

We climbed the height by the zigzag path and wondered why, until
We understood it was made zigzag to break the force of the hill.
A road straight up would prove too steep for the traveler*s feet to tread;
The thought was kind in its wise design of a zigzag path instead.
It is often so in our daily life; we fail to understand
That the twisting way our feet must tread by love alone was planned.
Then murmur not at the winding way, it is our Father*s will
To lead us Home by the zigzag path, to break the force of the hill. . . . Author unknown.

It is my worst nightmare that some Christians might read the articles I write as a substitute for regularly attending a Biblical church. If you do not regularly attend a Biblical church, you are not on the path where God wants you to be, you are not following the best Christian examples, you are not being perfected, you are not being edified, you are not sharpening your brothers and sisters in Christ, you are not being sharpened by them, you are making your Christian life more difficult than it needs to be, you don*t have others praying for you, you won*t be strong enough to go straight uphill, you won*t be learning what He wants you to learn and you won*t be doing what He wants you to do. I do not know every detail about the will of God for you. But I do know that God puts regular church attendance on every believer*s path. Neglecting church is like traveling through an unknown wilderness alone. It is a more difficult path than the one God gives us. It makes a Christian*s life more difficult because he always carries his burdens alone. When he falls there is no one to help him up.

Hebrews 10:25: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Ephesians 4:11: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Proverbs 27:17: Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Matthew 18:20: For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Ecclesiastes 4:9: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

John 13:35: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Galatians 6:10: As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

How will the world know you are a disciple of Jesus if you are not loving His children and doing them good? God wants you to spend time alone with Him AND He wants you to spend time with His other children. You need both. Without both you will not go uphill as fast as you should.
